And the gent standing there is a fine man. In recent years when I would go down to Sampson County. I would take my Dad, Wilbert Dudley who is now 98, over to visit with David. Could sit and listen to those two talk about stories and people all day. Plus, David always would call me "Pretty Boy." No one else has ever called me that. A thought just crossed my mind. Did he mean it, did he feel sorry for the way I really look, or was he making fun of me? Truly like David. David always would call me "Pretty Boy." No one else has ever called me that. Travis Register, how are you associated with this family? Just wondering. My Dad is first cousin to David and all of his brothers and sisters. - Jerry Ray Dudley
Jerry Ray Dudley, Travis is not a descendant of CJ & MJ, but he a good family friend from Turkey. He was making really good comments on our posts in the Sampson County history group, so I invited him into the inner sanctum to fellowship with us. - Gary Alan Hudson
Gary Hudson, I had had a couple of exchanges on the SCHS site, and then I met him about 3 months ago at a funeral in Ingold. Nice putting faces with names, but Travis and I had a nice chat that day we met face to face, and when I saw him commenting I was wondering about the connection. He seems to be a nice guy. Thank for the explanation. - Jerry Ray Dudley
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I do have fond memories of many of the Hudson family and grew up with Gary and many others. Special memories of Mr. Dewey [George Dewey Hudson Sr.], Mr. David [David Dwight Hudson Sr.], Mr. Pelmon [Pelmon Jart Hudson Sr.], Mrs. Sally [Sallie Jane Hudson Roberts], Mr. John [John Thomas Hudson] and Ms. Zilphia [Zilphia (Zilffy) Elizabeth McCullen Hudson] to name just a few. Many good folks both here and gone on. They are part of an era I consider some of the best times. Just good, honest, hardworking folks. Enjoy being here and sharing stories and memories. – Neuiel TRAVIS Register.
Thank you for displaying the love of our generations. A good picture or a fine man: David Hudson. – Marie West Phillips.
